A critical part of preparing students for their futures is to make them aware of all the possibilities. An engineering degree is one of the most desirable and versatile offered today. Yet, many students hold inaccurate perceptions of engineering or engineering education — or simply lack the knowledge about the types of careers that are open to them within the profession.
ASSESS is a comprehensive diagnostic tool designed to provide guidance to students about engineering careers and the academic courses need to pursue an engineering degree. ASSESS helps students learn how they can turn their current interests (whether in math or science, sports or art) into a variety of engineering career paths, identify their strengths and weaknesses in subject areas important for college study, and ask the right questions as they develop a plan for their higher education and their careers.

Many academic institutions and organizations use ASSESS during recruitment fairs, as part of an engineering day, or in conjunction with an Engineers Week or mentoring activity — anywhere and everywhere you want to help introduce students to engineering.
