About
The JETS PathAssess™ tool is an online application that gives students in grades 9-12 an inside look at how their unique interests and skills can lead to a career in engineering. It was developed using two validated and tested theories of career development and choice:
- The Holland Theory of Vocational Interest.
- Lent's Social Cognitive Career Theory.
When incorporated together, these theories can help people of all ages, cultures, and levels of education make satisfying career choices.
JETS PathAssess™ consists of two essential steps and one optional component:
Step 1: Demographic Information
This step gathers general statistical data that will help improve future JETS' tools and questionnaires.
Step 2: My Interests
In this step, students will answer questions about the kinds of jobs and activities they are interested in. After completing the questionnaire, students will receive a personal Holland Interest Code which is then compared to the unique Holland codes of college-level engineering majors. These results show students how their interests align with engineering majors and occupations.
Optional Component: Career Planning Questionnaire
Finally, students may choose to complete the optional Career Planning Questionnaire and relate their beliefs about their ability to achieve their academic and career goals. The answers to these questions are then mapped onto the student's Holland Interest Code. This process results in a tailored list of majors and careers that the student may use to further explore and experience suggestions.

PathAssess™ is available for purchase for $12.95. This price includes two complete student sessions with multiple user access within each session. Both sessions must be completed within a one-year period from the time payment is submitted.
