November 2004, Issue #34

Letter from the Editor

Hello and welcome to the November edition of the Pre-Engineering Times. We have excellent information as well as suggestions for holiday presents this month. With the holidays so close at hand, look for a holiday treasure hunt or treat from us next month. You might get lucky!

This month our feature is Audio Engineering. We have a feature article on Audio Engineering, several links for Audio Engineering exploration, classroom tips for teaching Audio Engineering and The Cool Engineer of the Month is an engineer turned music producer with his own record label!

This is a fun issue for all of you music fans. If you were the first on your block to get an iPod, download music on the Internet or make your computer into a sound system that can rival any home stereo unit, you will love this issue. Audio engineering is all about sound. From CD creation to stadium speaker systems to voice recordings, sound makes our world come alive.

Without further ado, let's get started….. Celeste Baine

Celeste Baine is the Director of the Engineering Education Service Center and the author of 3 books on engineering careers: Is There an Engineer Inside You?, The Fantastical Engineer and High Tech Hot Shots.
