Welcome back! I trust that summer was fun, relaxing and maybe even a bit too short. Here at JETS and the Engineering Education Service Center (EESC) we are raring to go and ready to help you make the jump into discovery, innovation and fun. As you can see, the Pre-engineering times has a new look and feel. We have been busy this summer preparing to entice, electrify and excite your senses. If you've ever wanted to become an engineer or ever wanted to show your students what engineering can do for them, you've come to the right place. We have many surprises in store for you……all you have to do is stayed tuned each month and we'll get right to it.

This month, our newsletter will not follow the old pattern of information delivery. We have a feature article on roller coaster engineering; several links for roller coaster engineering exploration but our Cool Engineer of the Month are actually four cool engineering students from Smith College that participated in an exciting NASA project. If you are looking for out-of-this-world engineering projects or out-of-this-world general stimulation, be sure to read their story….it will make you want to become involved!

If you know of camps, contests or engineering events happening this year, be sure to send them to me at the EESC so that we can update our website and keep others informed of your opportunities. Email them to celbaine@engineeringedu.com.

If you know of students, educators or engineers that would be interested in this kind of information please forward this newsletter and encourage them to subscribe.

Without further ado......let's get started!
