Now's the time to start planning for next year. Visit the newly designed TEAMS website and get everything you need to form a team for next year's TEAMS competition held February 4-March 12, 2006. Starting now will allow plenty of time to integrate prep and the valuable lessons students will learn into your lesson plans. Click here for information about TEAMS.
2005 TEAMS Competition Recap
JETS would like to congratulate all the participants in the 2005 TEAMS Competition. This year's competition was held during the months of February and March 2005 at college campuses, state engineering societies and high schools across the nation. There were also international TEAMS competition sites in Spain, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The turn out for this year's competition was fourteen thousand students at over one hundred sites nationally and internationally.
This year's TEAMS Competition challenged students to think critically as a team and required students to use their knowledge of math, science, chemistry, physics and biology to solve 80 multiple-choice questions in Round 1, and four open-ended problems in Round 2. The 2005 TEAMS competition was undoubtedly challenging but the students rose to the occasion. JETS salutes all the 2005 participants for their exceptional participation in the TEAMS Competition.
JETS would like to commend the top three National ranking teams in each division.

JETS would also like to thank all the coaches and hosts of the 2005 TEAMS Competition.
JETS' recognizes the time, energy and dedication coaches and hosts spend on the TEAMS Competition. We thank you for your commitment to promoting engineering, mathematics and science to high school students and to TEAMS.
JETS is pleased to announce the addition of two UNITE program sites the New Jersey Institute of Technology and the University of New Orleans. JETS coordinates UNITE (The Uninitiates' Introduction to Engineering Program) with funding from the U.S. Army Research Office. The UNITE program is targeted toward high school students and helps prepare them for college through summer classes. These summer classes introduce students to an academic experience which closely parallels that of a first-year student in a university engineering program. Through academic classes, hands-on activities, and team-based learning, the students explore the connections between math and science and real world applications.
Of the UNITE graduates, 79% enrolled in college. Starting in 1993, the scope of the UNITE program was expanded to freshmen and sophomores in high school, thereby identifying and supporting students throughout their four years of high school. The UNITE program is also organized on the following campuses Colorado State University, Florida International University, New Mexico MESA, University of Delaware, University of Detroit-Mercy. Visit http://www.jets.org/programs/unite.cfm to learn more or contact Loronda Lee at (703) 548-5387, 101.
Deciding on a College Career?
High school students sometimes decide on their college career paths without really knowing what those courses of study will involve. In order to help students determine how well-prepared they are to enter an engineering or technology program in college and to answer questions students have about engineering and technology study, JETS has developed the National Engineering Aptitude Search+ (NEAS+) academic survey. The NEAS+ enables students to make informed decisions about their futures. Click here to learn more.
JETS Career Guidance Resources
JETS provides a compendium of engineering career guidance brochures, brochures and booklets on engineering disciplines, instructional manuals, and books of interest to aspiring engineers. Click here for a complete list or to place an order.
