March 2007, Issue #56
Letter from JETS
Welcome to the March issue of the Pre-Engineering Times! It's hard to believe it's already almost spring!
Our focus this month is nanotechnology. Disney got it right when they said "It's a Small World." Our feature on nanotechnology shows it's getting even smaller — with nanostructures being created as small as 32 nanometers. Get out your electron microscopes, and get ready for a wild ride into the world of the molecular! As you'll see, this world offers exciting prospects for treating cancer, helping blind people see, solving environmental problems, producing a generation of new materials, and further miniaturizing electronics for even more powerful performance in computing and other exciting applications.
Also, we want to congratulate all the participants in the year's TEAMS and NEDC competitions!!! The participation was outstanding, and so were the results.
We are on the home stretch for this school year so gear-up, do your homework, study for every test, get involved in a fun engineering or robotics club, tour a college engineering school, and keep reading the pre-engineering times. Summer will be here before you know it.
