JETS' 2005 TEAMS Competition Window Closed
The final 2005 TEAMS competition was held on Monday, March 14 the New Jersey Institute of Technology. This year TEAMS was held at over 90 locations across the country reaching over 14,000 students. TEAMS is an academic timed competition where high school students work together to solve college-level engineering problems. JETS is currently tabulating the scores from each of the local competitions to determine state rankings. From the state rankings, the top ten teams in each division will advance for national scoring and awards. Stay tuned to the JETS TEAMS website for updates and more information about 2005 TEAMS state and national rankings and awards.

JETS Participates In SEEK-16 Summit on K-16 Engineering Education
JETS Executive Director Leann Yoder and Board Member Roberta Gleiter, CEO of Global Institute For Technology & Engineering, were among the recognized national leaders invited to participate in the SEEK-16 National Summit on Strategies for Engineering Education K-16, February 21-22, 2005 at the National Academy of Engineering in Washington, D.C. The summit's goal was to engage leaders from business, government, higher education, national organizations, and the K-12 classroom to create and implement strategies to use design engineering concepts and practices to improve K-16 science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) instruction and learning and ultimately increase U.S. student enrollment in engineering and technology fields in college. Last fall, JETS launched, with great success the JETS Challenge. Each week JETS posts a new problem along with the answer from the previous week's challenge. Plan to make this a weekly activity in your classroom or tell your students about it and how they can logon at home. Take the JETS Challenge!

Deciding on a College Career?

High school students sometimes decide on their college career paths without really knowing what those courses of study will involve. In order to help students determine how well-prepared they are to enter an engineering or technology program in college and to answer questions students have about engineering and technology study, JETS has developed the National Engineering Aptitude Search+ (NEAS+) academic survey. The NEAS+ enables students to make informed decisions about their futures. Click here to learn more.
