Letter from JETS
As our Current Event of the month says so well, Happy Engineers Week to all—including all our future engineers—boys and girls alike.
JETS is celebrating this month with the NEDC Finals being held in our nation's capital on Friday, February 17. In addition the TEAMS competition kicked off with the first event being held at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. More than 14,000 students will be participating in TEAMS this year.
Our JETS celebration also includes our special newsletter features. Both the feature of the month and the extreme engineer explore focus on women engineers, in line with this year's E-Week theme. The feature article highlights a small sampling of women engineers profiled in the exciting new book "Our Changing World: True Stories of Women Engineers," developed by the Extraordinary Women Engineers Project. In addition to being a woman engineer, our Extreme Engineer of the month, Erin Venezia, works at Judith Nitsch Engineering, Inc., a woman-owned firm. Here the professional engineering staff is about 40 percent women.
Hands on activities for February shows you how to make your own Soda Pop. It's brought to you by the National Academy of Engineering's
EngineerGirl Website.
Happy Engineers Week to all from JETS!
